Date of Walk: Sunday September 1st, 2024
Total Distance: 13.2km
Total Time: 2:41:59
We had only one car this weekend so did a loop of a walk to cover the section we stopped at last time (~10B) to 10D in Perth. As a result, we had a shorter distance in a quicker time than other recent walks. This one was fairly easy, navigating through some open fields being the trickiest part. Did I mention the trail was a bit over grown in places, as well as wet? It wasn’t too bad though, fewer complaints from me that day.
Major highlight finding Cow Rock! Right near the 10C marker is a large rock that is clearly a cow that looked at medusa once upon a time. Poor cow! Seriously awesome rock though.
At waypoint 10D is a fantastic park for Perth residents. Lots of parking for visitors, but almost every type of rec available including skate and bike parks, tennis and pickleball courts, walking trails, playground equipment, ball diamonds, soccer field….way to go Perth!
Nice bathroom too. A good place to start our next walk!
Since we were back in Perth, we went to see what options were available. Being a long weekend, a number of places were closed (?!) but we were happy to visit Fiddleheads pub in the old mill building. We split an order of nachos and a basket of fries — fantastic nachos. Our server let us know that Friday is half price nacho day if we wanted to come back for more. Speaking of her….our server was OUTSTANDING! Rolled a natural 20 on charisma for sure. We will go back for more nachos!
