It’s probably not surprising that in the back of our property, where woodland area is, we have carpets of trilliums that emerge in early spring. I love walking around back there and realizing how many flowers there are. I was very happy to find a transplant in the garden out back – we noticed a single flower our first year here. Last year, I noted that the trillium had multiplied and had several flowers. In 2021, our garden clonal colony trillium has 9 flowers! Clearly, it is happy in it’s garden home, where it is largely shaded and mostly left alone, getting a couple handfuls of triple mix added around the base each year.
